My personal life experience and my continuous journey on self discovery, is what has led me to a place of realisation and to creating YLB. It was like I had been walking around everyday like a robot, with no real feeling about anything and with my eyes and heart closed year after year. I wasn't really enjoying anything about my life, i was just doing and doing without deeply connecting or feeling enjoyment with anything or anyone. It never even dawned on me to take a breath and enjoy the simple things like how beautiful the sky is or the abundance of beautiful cherry blossom trees I have in my residential area. I was numb and empty.

However life has a way of giving you a great big slap in the face, which often involves a lot of pain, upset and struggle.

So that's what I got, a great big slap in the face and kick up the back side to go with it. My experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer while simultaneously becoming pregnant, and then loosing my baby to a miscarriage, followed by the breakdown of my marriage resulting in divorce, forced be to stop and be still for several months.

This time in my life made be question and be honest with myself about what I was doing in my life, and what I truly needed and desired, asking myself if I was truly happy and fulfilled. The honest answers to these questions was NO, but I didn't realise how unhappy and unfulfilled I was until this point.

I learnt how important it is to be still sometimes and really reflect on who I am, what direction I am going, what I want, what purpose does God have for me on his earth, and if that’s really where I am heading.

I spent Many years rushing around, working extremely hard and long days, constantly feeling exhausted and unfulfilled, not having enough or any time to spend with myself, family, friends or enjoy any of the really important aspects of my life. Clock watching all the time because I have to be somewhere else, to another task I really don’t want to do, no me time. In fact just writing this makes me feel exhausted.

To be precise my emotional and mental distain for how I was living daily was very unhealthy for myself and those close to me. I guess my fears played a big part in how I went about my life for many years. Feeling the strain and pressure of needing to be all these different things for so many other people at the same time. Fear of letting people down and not being able to live up to monstrous expectations, fear of not being able to make enough money to maintain my part of financial commitments, fear that if I get blessed with a healthy pregnancy, I won’t be around enough for my baby and be the mother that I aspire to be because of lack of time , and the need to work long days in a demanding role in order to earn a decent income to provide enough for my home and family. For me this was made even harder because I didn't have a supportive partner and my desire to become a mother was all I could think about. The list goes on, but I’m sure you get my drift.

On top of this all I wasn’t even making enough money to sustain a comfortable lifestyle, so I can’t even say to myself that’s why I was doing all this, it just made no sense. Not to mention my desire and obsession with having my own family and becoming a mother was taunting me and making me very low, as age was not on my side and I experienced more than one miscarriage one after the other.

I did get to a point of acceptance and thought maybe that's not God's plan for me, or maybe I needed to look at other options that would bless me with that privilege of becoming a mother.

After a very long time of deliberation with myself during my cancer recovery, child loss and other difficult times I decided to do something about this. My priorities in life changed. However even though I had now reached this decision, I had no idea how to go about making this change, what that change should be, or where to start. My creative juices was NOT flowing, but leave it to those annoying pop up adds on my computer to plant the seed, and make a difference to every aspect of my life.

I started by making a list of the key things I wanted in life and the type of lifestyle I wanted to maintain. My list included things like:

Being able to manage my own time according to what's important to me and what I want to do. FREEDOM with my time.
Putting my heath and wellbeing first.
Wanting to help people and add value to there lives
Being able to have quality time with family and friends whenever desired
Geographical freedom, being able to work from any location or country if I choose to
Being financial comfortable.
Enjoying what I do everyday.

With all the above in mind I started to feel excited, creative, motivated and powerful. It was like a new lease of life and I was ready to start my new journey. I knew it was going to take determination, perseverance, consistency and a lot of patience, but I was ready.

Through discovering amazing aids and resources online that don’t break the bank, I created YLB. Which steadily allows me to positively move towards creating a lifestyle that I love, where I am in control and make better decisions for myself. This makes me a happier and a healthier person all round.
